Charting the extraordinary short life of a capoeira devotee and the art form that defined and imperilled his life. Performed in Portuguese and English at Tara Arts, London.

A magical, musical journey through the jungle accompanied by Slither the Snake and his many friends. Performed in Bangla and English for 3-7 year olds at Rich Mix, Tara Arts, Jagonari Women’s Centre and Mulberry School.

 

THE TEMPEST IN BANGLA

PRODUCER

Produced for Dhaka Theatre at Shakespeare’s Globe’s Globe to Globe Festival 2012, this production was a vibrant celebration of Bangladeshi folk performance and a compelling twist on the colonial narrative of Prospero and Caliban.

 

PiNiK

WRITER AND DIRECTOR

A gut-wrenching tale about drug use on the streets of Dhaka, PiNiK (or “hit”) was made in collaboration with Prachyanat Theatre for Alo, a drug awareness charity in the city.

DIRECTOR

Set in the stunning David Sassoon Library in Mumbai’s Kala Ghoda district this was a promenade production in Hindi, Urdu and English for the British Council Mumbai starring Heeba Shah, Mukul Chadda, Trishla Patel, Neil Bhoopalam and Namit Das.
